Threats & Taunts follow Padgett September 15, 2007

“I am going to get you.”

“How do you like those dents I put in your truck?”

OK, people, you are going to have to do something. I am talking to the Board and to the Voters. No one has to live like this. Can you guess who made these statements after the special meeting tonight?

According to numerous reports from people at Homecoming, on the phone, at home, and abroad, there was a verbal altercation between Hallam and Board member Dennis Padgett after the council meeting tonight as well as an admittance of foul play by Davis. In addition, the Town in not going to get a grant because of Judy’s nitpicking and the short deadline. I will start with the least important, yet most annoying of the incidents.

Judy Whitaker is so jealous of the fact that the Civic League is getting positive attention and moving forward with numerous projects around town, it isn’t funny. You have seen her recent article in the paper patting herself on the back about the CSX railroad property Main Street went into debt for. They did this about a year ago, but she put it in the paper a week or so ago, like it was NEWS or something. Couldn’t stand not being in the limelight with all the park improvements and the log cabin raising. She is one of the few people left on Main Street because no one wants to be associated with Main Street because she is a member. Sad old woman.

She apparently found reasons to not move forward with the DNR ($2500) grant she brought up and also the IDEM ($5000) grant that was to purchase benches etc. for the park. At least one of the reasons was that the Park Board minutes didn’t reflect a vote to move on that. Oh well, maybe next round. I just hope Ms. Ladd and company do not get discouraged as they are the brightest thing in Cloverdale since grandpa wired the town.

OK, so it is time to reel Charlie Hallam in. He has been going around calling Channel 6, whining about having to pay for dog food, crying to the Vet’s office, and is behind this fund raising effort to continue on with a K9 program that the Council didn’t approve nor even know about until after it started. You’ve seen the flyers, you may even have been taken in by the misleading statements of an Alec Foundation that isn’t even official with the state.

Why the Board hasn’t ordered him to shut up , I don’t know. Why the Board hasn’t voted to call a Safety Board meeting, I don’t know. But now, they have got to do something as he is totally out of control.

What should have been a short meeting, ended up one of those meetings that is very disconcerting. Dennis was upset and as he left the room, Hallam made some remark to him or laughed at him or both. Padgett comes back to Hallam and asked him what was it he had to say. Hallam then says something to Padgett about not liking the way Padgett approached him. Padgett leaves and Hallam circled around and told Padgett “I am going to get you.”

Then, in the parking lot, Padgett is accosted by another bully when John Davis approaches him, making faces as though he is crying. He asks Padgett how he likes the dents he put in his truck. He says this more than once and in front of a witness! Later, he goes past Padgett’s house and then up to Glen Vickroy’s house and starts mouthing off to Glen! Apparently, Davis needs to have his lithium levels checked. He is starting to act like he did the night he left a meeting and hit Puffer with his truck in the street. Board members, beware.

Oh yeah, Davis is the President of the Safety Board and was heard telling Hallam he would protect him the night he was appointed President. Good thing they didn’t put a time frame on that appointment. They need to appoint someone else. Otherwise, the Town may never get rid of Dog Boy aka Robo-Cop of Quincy.

Come, Safety Board, kick him to the curb.

I was sitting at Mill St. and Lafayette, behind Casey’s, at around 7:15. I noticed Glen pass by heading to his house. I looked at the clock because I knew they had a board meeting tonight and was curious how long it had lasted. As I turn on Lafayette to head south John Davis was heading north towards Glen’s home. I’d say this is probably a pretty accurate account of events.

If he enjoys making dents in metal maybe he can get a job working for the state. I’m sure they could use some more people making license plates….

Isn’t it amazing how attention to detail only comes into play when it helps JJnaynay accomplish what they want. How soon they forget about other things in this town - like the Ice Box. No where in any of the minutes of the BZA, Planning or Cloverdale Town Council can one find any documentation where the owners of the Ice Box ever presented any plans. Same for when they decided to put in their new entrance. The Family Dollar store was signed off by John Davis personally - never brought before the BZA, Planning or Cloverdale Town Council - same with the Ole Inn - John Davis signed off on it personally - now where is the documentation???????????????? Parents - when you take your children to the Park - and there are no tables for your children to have lunch - don’t take them to get ice cream.
